#ROCRAIL WITH JMRI MAC#
Under "Production Release" section of this page there are JMRI versions for Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
#ROCRAIL WITH JMRI INSTALL#
Download this software from and install it. In addition, there is a very active contributor, who seems to be very decisive (good and bad) and in control about which improvements are approved and which are not. IT is much more a finished program for the normal user that just wants to run trains.
I plan to change the DCC++ command station protocol to make it more standard and be able to use also other software like Rocrail, but for now it must be used with JMRI. The first experiments with RocRail seemed to indicate that RocRail was easier to use than JMRI. JMRI: This is the program that "talks" to the command station and allows you to drive trains, move switches, program decoders. It can be downloaded from DCC++ page or directly clicking here. Just download and extract it in any folder in your computer. It can be freely downloaded from Arduino official page: īase Station DCC++: This is the software or firmware/sketch we will upload into Arduino board using the previous Arduino IDE. It will be used only once to upload the DCC++ command station sketch to the Arduino board, or in the future to upload a new program version with more features. Arduino UNO is also suitable, but I prefer a MEGA board as it is faster and more expandable.Īnd the following is the needed software to make it run and manage and program trains:Īrduino IDE: This software is used to program Arduino or upload any already made software/firmware (or sketch in Arduino language) to the board. To mount this command station you need the following hardware:Īrduino MEGA: It can be found in ebay for 8$, I bought it here. Don't be afraid about the difficulty to mount the system, you DON'T NEED to solder anything, just plug, upload the program, and run!!! Yes, just 8$!!!! I suggest you to use Arduino MEGA in view of future expansions I want to implement, like a Loconet bus or the possibility to work in digital and analog mode.
#ROCRAIL WITH JMRI FULL#
It is a complete DCC command station, supporting the full set of NMRA Digital Command and Control (DCC) standards, including: I'm aware members have gotten JMRI and Rocrail to work on their RPi's and touchscreens are supported in the kernel (from 2.6.I want to share here the information from DCC++ ( ) to build a DCC command station using Arduino. This setup is going to be used, if I can get permission of the rest, on our club layout, but we're not automating the layout itself! (although one member refuses to operate it until we do ) I'm hoping to use the RPi with a touchscreen and existing software (JMRI or Rocrail) to control a loco from there.
#ROCRAIL WITH JMRI FOR ANDROID#
Apps are available for Android and iOS (Apple, including the iPad). The unit comes with a wireless router (D-Link) to provide wireless access for mobile phone throttles to control a loco. It's based on Lenz technology, so no surprises there. This is a networked command station for use on model railway layouts. Having purchased a set of Pi's my aim is to use one with a Roco Z21 device. This gives you wireless access to WiFi throttles & the Z21 app The DR5000 has a lot of functionality and should have enabled me to try various ways to control my model railway De multi bus centrale heeft duidelijke led indicaties Works with Roco Z21 App and all well-known train controller software (RocRail, JMRI, iTrain etc) Digikeijs DR5000. Not sure this is the correct place for it, but I'm sure one of the mod's will move it if more appropriate elsewhere.
